Product details
For mission-critical power and harsh operating conditions, the CSB XHT8000FT is a 12V front terminal valve regulated sealed lead acid battery in the XHT series. It utilizes Catalist 2X proprietary additive technology and pure lead construction, achieving a gas recombination rate of up to 99%, and features AGM Absorbent Glass Mat separators and a dedicated grid design. Maintenance-free is a structural characteristic of this product; its case is made of impact-resistant PC-ABS flame-retardant material, meets UL 94-V0 requirements, and is suitable for high-rate and high-temperature backup scenarios.
Electrical specifications are as follows: nominal voltage 12 Vdc; nominal capacity 8000W @ 5min-rate (9.60V per PCS @ 25°C). Watts per cell data at 1.67 VPC are — 30 seconds 1831.17 W/cell, 5 minutes 1287.17 W/cell, 15 minutes 821.50 W/cell. Maximum discharge current is 1660 (5sec), maximum charge current is 66.70 A, short-circuit current reaches 4570 A, and internal resistance is 2.17 mΩ. At 25°C, the equalization voltage range is 14.4 - 15.0 Vdc/battery, and the float charge voltage range is 13.5 - 13.8 Vdc/battery.
In terms of dimensions and weight, the battery is 558.0±2.5 mm long, 126.0±1.5 mm wide, 325.0±2.5 mm high, and weighs 66.6 kg. The terminal provided is I2 thread lead alloy terminal to accept M6 bolt, and the tightening torque must be controlled within 51.7±10.3 Kgf∙cm, 44.9±9.0 Lbf∙in, or 5.1±1.0 N∙m. If used under float charge conditions at 25°C, the design life can exceed 12 years; under float charge conditions at 35°C, it is 10 years. The operating temperature range during discharge is -40°C to 65°C, and charging and storage are also -40°C to 65°C.
In terms of self-discharge performance, after standing for 90 days at 25°C, self-discharge is less than 10%, and the storage period can reach 6 months, extendable to 10 months with equalization charging. It must be fully charged before being put into use; once the storage temperature exceeds 25°C, the charging timing should be correspondingly advanced. Manufacturing is based on IEC 60896-21/22:2004, UL1989 (MH14533), and it also holds UL 1973 Recognized (MH66728). Data center uninterruptible power supplies are its official application direction, making it suitable as backup power for mission-critical scenarios.
For installation and maintenance, charging equipment should be set according to the aforementioned float charge and equalization voltage ranges, M6 bolt connections must be tightened according to terminal torque requirements, and the maximum charge current and maximum discharge current must not be exceeded. Storage temperature should be maintained at around 25°C, with regular supplementary charging to ensure battery performance. Due to the valve regulated sealed maintenance-free design, no water replenishment is required during normal use, meeting the needs of data center UPS and other high-rate discharge, high-temperature-resistant backup power systems.
